We innovate every day to make the world a healthier place.We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate to join the In Vivo Pharmacology Group within the Oncology Research Unit (ORU) of Pfizer’s Oncology Division in Bothell, WA. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scientists, playing a key role supporting the Central Cell Bank. The candidate will primarily manage procurement, collection, expansion, storage, and distribution of all cell lines to serve the needs of research and development activities at Pfizer ORU.The candidate is a technical expert in sterile cell culture techniques, particularly with transformed or immortalized mouse and human cancer cell lines. The candidate will be working closely with colleagues from various research groups and should be a team player.The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all cell lines are correctly identified and adequately tested to eliminate misidentification and reduce cross-contamination. The candidate will accurately manage inventory using FreezerPro and will perform regular QC to ensure accurate inventory as well as maintain accurate records for audit and filing purposes.The ideal candidate will join a high-demand and fast-paced environment and requires the capacity to thrive under pressure.Ideal applicants will have excellent communication and organizational skills, critical problem-solving abilities, strong independence, and a commitment to excellence.The position will be 100% onsite.ROLE RESPONSIBILITIESProcurement, storage, and distribution of all cell lines.Mammalian cell culture maintenance of existing cell lines and onboarding of new cell lines.Regular QC process for accurate inventory and completion of Central Cell Bank requests.Accurate and timely documentation and record keeping for audit and IND filing purposes.Weekly communication and updates with manager and CRO to ensure set goals are achieved and maintained.Work as part of a cross-functional team.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor of Science degree in Biology, Immunology, Oncology, or similar, with 3+ years relevant experience.Current knowledge of oncology, immunology, and immune-oncology research, and/or drug discovery and development.Experience with transformed and immortalized human and murine cell lines.Excellent sterile cell culture techniques.Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency in all common office and scientific software.Strong ability to multi-task and work productively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and diverse team environment.Ability to follow novel scientific or technological developments and to implement them in the laboratory.Capability to contribute to a vivid and challenging intellectual environment.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTSLifting of up to 30 lbs, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis.NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTSMust be willing and able to work after hours as needed to ensure study integrity.Additional Information:Last Day to Apply: October 29, 2024
