Overview:
Develop, schedule, and oversee the work of the Clinical Education Department including external clinical training programs of the osteopathic medical students.Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ability to gather, organize, and analyze data as a result of medical student participation in NBOME Clinical COMAT subject examination, clinical rotations, and post graduate training
Maintain student clinical statistical records for TouroCOM analysis and compliance with regulatory bodies
Assure that proper affiliation agreements have been completed
Oversight of scheduling for third-year students/faculty at clinical sites
Manage the student and clinical programs’ evaluations
Collaborate with Clinical Dean to update the Clinical Rotations Manual and Syllabi
Oversight of the third-year rotations lottery
Manage and delegate day-to-day duties to Clinical Education Department staff
Develop rotations budget and maintain Clinical Management Software
Track student performance and progress on COMLEX Examination and work with Preclinical Dean, Clinical Dean, and Dean of Student Affairs, to identify and track all students through exam process
Provide support for students in Clinical Clerkships
Orient students to Clinical Clerkships
Construction and uploading of MSPE letters
Schedule and oversight of Student Site Visit meetings and track reports
Schedule and implement DME meetings
Serve as liaison to clinical affiliate sites
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree required
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an administrative setting
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Well organized and self-directed
Detail oriented and customer service skills
Able to prioritize tasks
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to perform internet research
