Chief, Division of Vascular Surgery .
The Division of Vascular Surgery is one of eight clinical Divisions in the Department of Surgery and is poised for growth under the direction of its next Chief. The Vascular Surgery Division currently includes 5 faculty members who offer a broad array of clinical services providing the highest quality care for vascular surgery patients including open, laparoscopic and endovascular repairs, TCARs, along with management of complex arterial and venous disease.
The successful applicant will be provided with a competitive salary and benefits, and the final faculty rank/title will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications.
Essential Functions
Reporting to the Chair of Surgery, the incoming Chief will be responsible for partnering with the Chair to develop clinical programs and expand research while focusing on academic success in a collaborative environment. The Department of Surgery offers potential candidates a uniquely supportive practice environment with an emphasis on quality patient care, research, teaching, individual career development, and collaboration among faculty members. The Division Chief will also serve as the Medical Director of UC Health’s Vascular Lab. In this role the individual works in a close relationship with UC Health leadership regarding operational oversight of the lab including quality initiatives.
The Chief will assume a leadership position in one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, with a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with UC Health and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the College of Medicine’s faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. We seek a candidate that will possess a vision that incorporates clinical growth, advanced patient care while upholding our tradition of clinical excellence.
Minimum Requirements
MD or equivalent.
Completion of a five-year accredited integrated residency in Vascular Surgery, or completion of a five-year accredited residency in Surgery with completion of an accredited fellowship in Vascular Surgery.
Ohio medical license.
Hold RPVI credentials.
Hold BC/BE in Vascular Surgery.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Certification by the American Board of Surgery.
Associate or Full Professor ranking with a minimum of 6 years of clinical experience beyond training.
Demonstrated effective leadership and administrative skills and experience in resident education and research.
Demonstrated ability to create and articulate a shared vision, persuade a wide range of audiences of its value, and engage others in its implementation.
Strong interpersonal skills that nurture and expand upon existing collaborations both within and beyond the UC Health network.
An expectation of achieving excellence in education, clinical practice, and research.
