Summary:
The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee and support the vendor payment process and promote sound accounting operations and best practices throughout the company. This position will train and oversee the Accounts Payable team, and regularly collaborate with our client companies, vendors and other accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
About this role:
Hours are typically Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
What you'll do - Includes but not limited to:
Abide by generally accepted accounting principles and internal procedures and controls to protect and preserve the assets of the company and its clients.
Direct and delegate periodic processing of vendor invoices and disbursements using streamlined, scalable processes.
Evaluate, recommend and implement Accounts Payable processes and procedures that further company goals.
Ensure departmental timelines are met and prioritize duties as necessary.
Manage Accounts Payable month-end close and ensure all invoices and expenses are properly accounted for.
Oversee and monitor the relationship with vendor partners, specifically: third-party payment companies, vendor compliance and property management software(s).
Research Accounts Payable issues as they occur, escalating and communicating as necessary.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Monitor monthly recurring invoices and automatic debits, and drive utilization of e-payments versus paper checks.
Assist in submission of key banking files, such as those used in positive pay.
Prepare and electronically submit IRS 1096, 1099-Misc and 1099-NEC filings ahead of set deadlines.
Compile general information and data in preparation for audit, due diligence, tax and other requirements.
Completes ad hoc financial or administrative reports and analysis as needed and performs other special projects as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in accounting or business from an accredited College or University and at least 3 years of prior Accounts Payable and Management experience.
Property management experience is preferred.
Must be computer literate including an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and other Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of Entrata, RealPage, AppFolio or other property management accounting software preferred.
Other requirements:
Must have reliable transportation available and have a valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance, as travel to meetings or other locations may be required.
