Private Credit & Equity (PC&E") consists of a team of over 230 professionals globally managing ~$47 billion of client capital in direct private equity and credit investment across a broad spectrum of industries within the MSIM umbrella. The Morgan Stanley Private Equity Secondaries Team (PE Secondaries" or the Team") within PC&E commenced operations in 2000. The Team has a long history of private equity investing in a diverse range of global opportunities and seeks to rely on the combination of deep investment expertise, direct operating knowledge and consulting experience that has been continually refined over the years.

The Principal role involves close collaboration with the COO and Partners of PE Secondaries as well as the Deal Team, Sales, Portfolio Services, Investor Relations, and Legal & Compliance. The dual responsibilities of the role are oversight and delivery of accurate and timely quarterly reporting including key performance and portfolio information to various stakeholders while supporting fundraising efforts in new products launched under PE Secondaries in close partnership with other variety of constituents. This includes both hands-on and delegated compilation and analysis of key performance metrics, attribution and benchmark analyses, data management and governance. Additionally, this role requires preparing marketing materials, facilitating due diligence sessions, drafting appropriate internal / external notifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private equity performance & attribution analytics as well as fundraising & marketing in addition to excellent technical, analytical, communication and management skills.

Primary responsibilities:-Thoroughly master existing processes for calculating, interpreting, compiling and delivering quarterly performance measurement and portfolio reporting-Manage the process of compiling and confirming data for quarterly portfolio reporting as well as external and internal presentations and ad-hoc request-Manage liquidity model for purpose of monitoring cash needs and sub-line covenants at the fund level-Work with Portfolio Services team to calculate and forecast carry in the group's funds-Coordinate and review capital calls and distributions to fund investors-Assist with deal structuring and funding, including provide deal-related support and frequent communication with paralegal and internal/external counsel-Assist with establishing and monitoring of subscription facilities-Responsible for the creation of fund marketing collateral and quarterly reporting, with a strong emphasis on pitchbook content. Additional responsibilities will include fact sheets, commentaries, white papers and educational material often in conjunction with other teams (e.g., quarterly investor reports, press releases, etc.)-Coordinate fund formation activities partnering with various support groups across MSIM / the Firm-Assist with investor onboarding in partnership with Investor Services / Fund Admin-Liaise and coordinate with PC&E management for corporate / MSIM / PC&E level Initiatives-Partner with Technology to enhance automation, ensure information is up to date in reporting portals, and identify productivity and efficiency opportunities; define business requirements for technology initiatives and ensure effective implementation and deployment of solutions-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or related field-Six to ten years of experience in investment management supporting private equity funds-Expertise in performance analytics-Strong analytical and financial skills, accounting background a plus-Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, databases, reports and charts-Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills-Ability to work within a team and under tight deadlines-High commitment and strong self-motivation-Strong work ethic-Committed to deliver the highest quality work product, strong attention to detail-Proactive; self-motivated and goal oriented-Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks-Strong management and team-building skills and experience

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $175,000.00 and $200,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
