The BRAC Vice President/Director of Energy provides leadership for developing and implementing strategies to promote employment and investment within the Energy industry. With a primary focus on recruiting companies to Louisiana, this person will also develop an energy business ecosystem that incorporate policy and governmental frameworks as they relate to Louisiana’s strategic advantages to attract investment in the energy industry.
Responsibilities
Recruitment – 60%
Primary staff leadership for developing and implementing strategies to promote investment and employment growth from existing and new companies in Energy including sectors in oil & gas, hydrogen, ammonia, solar, wind, biofuels, nuclear and other applicable sectors.
Leverage industry relationships and expertise to identify companies for high potential growth
Utilizing a clear, measurable strategy and industry relationships, develop a pipeline of qualified leads, cultivating them into successful investments
Establish robust, clear metrics across strategies that clearly demonstrate progress being made against stated goals, incorporating CRM data visualization for reporting
Working across teams and economic partners to support projects and provide solutions as the industry/sector subject matter expert
Ecosystem Development– 30%
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with economic partners and related energy companies through business development practices
Serve as BRAC representative on federal/ state energy grants, H2theFuture, LSU FUEL, and other applicable energy grants.
Lead and manage related committee/council meetings, such as the BRAC Carbon Alliance and other groups that may arise.
Administrative – 10%
Maintain up-to-date records in CRM to track projects/leads.
Work with accounting and compliance personnel to keep expenses, invoicing, and grant reporting in good standing
Attend internal staff meetings as part of the BRAC staff, keeping in good standing with internal protocols and culture
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Extensive experience and network (7+ years) in the energy industry
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred
Ability to manage across different personalities, titles, and organizations. Must be a people person and have analytical and organizational abilities to contextualize complex scenarios to make them easily workable and understandable.
