Position Summary : The Senior Vice President for Finance (SVPF) serves as North Greenville University's Chief Finance Officer (CFO). The SVPF is tasked with overseeing matters related to the University's finance operations and business services. The SVPF is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and Senior Leadership Council. The SVPF shall be appointed by, and report to, the President.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the university.

Lead all financial operations of the university, including administrative oversight of contractual relationships, in ways that are consistent with the university's mission and dedication to excellence and ethical consistency.

Develop and implement strategies aimed at wise stewardship of resources, production of net revenues, and forecasting for future health of the university.

Oversee compliance with applicable federal regulations.

Lead on financial aspects of accreditation.

Serve as a senior administrator on the Senior Leadership Council (SLC), which includes functions on senior budget team (President, EVP, SVPF, Provost).

Work closely with the EVP on matters related to the university's financial operations.

Cultivate a climate of quality, consistency, and transparency in all financial aspects of the university.

Lead direct reports in administrative areas reporting to the division (currently controller, personnel services, accounts payable, accounting, and purchasing).

Serve as the primary executive liaison with the Board of Trustees' Finance & Audit Committee and as a resource to the Advancement & Investment Committees.

In addition to providing GAAP compliant financial reports, develop and produce financial dashboards, reports, and strategies to allow the university to leverage its financial position and ensure long-term sustainability.

Ensure that overlaps and interactions between finance and other units (advancement, financial aid, budget units, etc.) all function seamlessly for full integration of university finances.

Visual Abilities: read reports, create presentations, and use a computer system.

Hearing: hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and students.

Dexterity: grasping, feeling, writing, typing, and using the telephone, copier, and computer systems.

Mobility: open files and operate office machines; move between departments and attend meetings across campus.

Talking: frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Lifting, pulling, pushing: exert up to 20 pounds of force regularly.

Cognitive/Emotional: ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions 75 to 100% of the time.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This position is a full-time, exempt position. The SVPF reports directly to the president while working closely with the executive vice president.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. Frequent after-hour engagement will be necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in applicable discipline preferred.

10+ years experience in areas related to the position; higher education experience preferred.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Competency with basic business tools including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and database management.

Member in good standing of a local evangelical church.

Affirm an understanding of and agree to be guided by the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 as a foundational doctrinal and ethical framework.
