The CISO will work with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization and ensure that information security is both a business enabler and a business protector.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement a comprehensive and forward-thinking information security strategy for the enterprise aligned with business objectives and recognized best practices.Oversee the information security organization with an emphasis on the effectiveness of security controls, continuous improvement to include constant assessment of emerging technologies, and maintaining proactive partnerships across all business functions.Collaborate with executive leadership, IT teams, and other stakeholders to identify security risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.Own and promote information security policies, standards, and procedures.Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to continuously enhance the company's security posture.Manage security incidents and events to include containment, communication and coordination across all relevant business functions, executive updates and consultation, recovery, and closure.Conduct regular security assessments to identify gaps and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements.Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership and the board of directors on the status of information security initiatives and compliance efforts.Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability across the organization through training, communication, and employee engagement activities.Build, inspire, empower, and mentor a high-performing team of security professionals, fostering professional growth and skill development.QualificationsExperienced Information Security executive leader in at least one substantial enterprise, preferably in high-tech or manufacturing with global operations.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. This must include the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.Proven track record of effectively presenting to and interacting with senior executive leaders and company board of directors.Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.Must be a critical thinker, with strong problem-solving skills.Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams in dynamic environments.Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, and others. High familiarity with privacy laws across all global jurisdictions.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or similar. Advanced degree is preferred.Compensation & Benefits DetailsAn employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.
