Position: Automation Testing Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
(The Frank E. Moss Courthouse will be going through a seismic upgrade and major renovation until the fall of 2025. Therefore, this position will primarily telework until completion with occasional visits to our temporary location).
Starting Salary Range: CL 29 $82,718 - $134,446 Starting salary commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automation Testing Engineer to join our software development team. This role is integral to ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications. The ideal candidate will be proficient in developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts for various applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions to our federal court units. Relocation to Utah is required and the possibility of partial teleworking is available.
DUTIES:
Design, develop, and implement automated testing scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
Collaborate with software developers and application support to identify and create testing requirements.
Execute automated test plans and analyze results to ensure applications meet functional and performance standards.
Perform regression, functional, and performance testing to validate new features and system updates.
Identify, log, and track bugs, ensuring timely resolution by the development team.
Work with manual testing/support teams to coordinate hybrid testing strategies.
Maintain and enhance the existing automation framework, suggesting improvements to increase efficiency and test coverage.
Prepare test reports and provide detailed feedback.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in automation testing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have
three years of specialized experience
in software testing, with two years in automation testing, including at least one year of equivalent work at CL-28, and they should be familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Jira, or similar.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
Strong understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, Perl, or C# used in automation scripting.
Experience with testing web-based applications, APIs, and database systems.
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile development.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Prior experience in testing applications within the government or legal sectors.
Knowledge of the U.S. court systems, particularly bankruptcy processes, is a plus.
Experience with load testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Selenium.
Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are advantageous.
Familiarity with cloud services like AWS or Azure and automation within cloud environments.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
