Labor & Employment Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join our management-side team in San Diego. This role is perfect for an experienced employment litigator who is ready to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment. With a focus on case management through to trial, the ideal candidate will independently handle litigation responsibilities including attending hearings, drafting, and responding to discovery, and preparing motions. Compensation:

$200,000.00 - $225,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters related to employment law.

Attend and argue hearings and motions in state and federal court.

Draft and respond to discovery documents and compile evidence for legal proceedings.

Prepare and file legal motions, manage mediations, and arbitrations

Develop case strategies in collaboration with team members and clients to ensure effective case resolution.

Interact with clients to provide them updates and manage their expectations throughout the case lifecycle.

Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations with probable outcomes for use in legal proceedings.

Direct and coordinate activities involving support staff and legal team.

Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial.

Review and advise clients on employment policies and compliance with current laws.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

J.D. degree from an accredited law school, graduated between 2016 and 2018.

Minimum of 4 years experience in labor and employment law, specifically in employment litigation.

Strong understanding of State and Federal employment laws including FMLA, wage-hour, and fair employment practices.

Experience representing clients in both administrative proceedings as well as federal and state court cases.

Proven track record of managing multiple cases with varying levels of complexity.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and court officials.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in trial preparation and successfully arguing cases before a court.

Background in providing legal counseling and advice to businesses on employment practices.

Ability to manage and lead a legal team in complex litigation cases.

Strong academic credentials and proven analytical skills.

Proficient with legal databases and technology used for case management.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
