Join our dynamic team as an Eminent Domain Associate Attorney in our highly respected midsize law firm, specializing in complex litigation matters across California. With a focus on eminent domain and real property, this role entails representing public and private clients on significant transportation, infrastructure, and land acquisition projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain substantial trial experience, handling cases from pleadings through to appeals, and plays a critical role in shaping the public infrastructure of California. The role combines competitive compensation with a hybrid work setup, fostering both flexibility and collaboration.

Compensation:

$165,000.00 - $190,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead litigation efforts in eminent domain and real property cases, participating actively from initial case filings to trial and appeal.

Engage thoroughly in all aspects of litigation including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice.

Represent both public entities and private clients in significant land acquisition projects related to large-scale infrastructure development.

Conduct detailed legal research, draft motions, and develop tailored trial strategies.

Participate in depositions, witness interviews, and comprehensive evidence gathering.

Work collaboratively with a team while also managing individual case loads effectively.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Must possess 4-7 years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in eminent domain or real estate/real property law.

Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.

Demonstrated experience in law and motion practices, particularly with dispositive motions.

Proven ability to construct a case strategy for trial, encompassing discovery, depositions, and witness interviews.

Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience representing large public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Proven track record of successful trial and appellate representations in eminent domain or real property litigations.

Skills:

Strong strategic thinking and legal analysis to effectively advocate for clients and influence court outcomes.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, witnesses, and other legal professionals.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Adaptability and willingness to work on complex legal issues and navigate uncertain legal terrains.
