Senior Data ScientistJob Category: ScienceTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: SecretEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Continental USThe Opportunity:The CACI team is looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to their growing software development contract with the Department of State in Rosslyn, VA. The role will support complex and scalable data analytic service and data lake projects that provide business intelligence, analysis, and dashboard reporting to our customer’s mission. The Senior Data Scientist will work with stakeholders to leverage data to drive business value. In addition, you will work with user identity log data to create sophisticated data visualizations that detect suspicious behavior. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our client's cybersecurity efforts by leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to identify potential threats and anomalies in user behavior.Responsibilities:Process and clean large volumes of user identity log data from various sourcesConduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies in user behaviorPerform feature engineering to extract relevant indicators of suspicious activityDesign and implement advanced data visualizations that effectively highlight potential security threatsDevelop interactive dashboards for real-time monitoring of user activity and potential security breachesApply statistical analysis techniques to establish baselines and thresholds for normal user behaviorDevelop and implement anomaly detection algorithms to identify unusual patterns in user activityCollaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to refine and improve detection criteria and methodologiesProduce regular reports on identified suspicious activities, trends, and potential security risksContinuously improve visualization techniques and detection methods to stay ahead of evolving security threatsPresent findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersUtilize Azure services, data lakes, and PySpark for efficient data processing and analysisCreate compelling visualizations and reports using PowerBI and TableauRequired Qualifications:Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on security analytics or anomaly detectionStrong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in PySparkExpertise in data visualization tools, specifically PowerBI and TableauExperience with Azure cloud services and working with data lakesProficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale databasesSolid understanding of machine learning algorithms, particularly in anomaly detection and classificationExperience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and common attack vectorsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiencesMust have an active Secret clearanceDesired Qualifications:PhD in a relevant fieldExperience working with user identity management systems and related log dataFamiliarity with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systemsAdvanced knowledge of Azure services related to data processing and securityExperience with real-time data processing and streaming analyticsContributions to open-source projects or research publications in relevant fieldsCertifications in data science, machine learning, or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH)Experience with data governance and compliance in cloud environmentPay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
