JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:The Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is responsible for driving efforts that strengthen a culture of inclusion and belonging. This job will design and deliver best in class Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) solutions that align with Company priorities and integrate DEI into strategic talent and learning and development programs and initiatives. This job will be responsible for the communication approach that transforms the DEI strategy into actionable programs, events and initiatives that support an inclusive workplace and workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Influences and builds strong relationships and partnerships with internal business leaders to develop an understanding of business needs and increase awareness and understanding of DEI as a critical business imperative.
Creates innovative solutions, learning opportunities, and communications that reflect our commitment to DEI in the organization and the communities we serve.
Serves as a liaison with community partners to help advance DEI initiatives, increase brand visibility in diverse communities and support Corporate-wide goals.
Assess and review KPIs and benchmarks for DEI associate programs including Associate Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure key milestones are achieved. Monitors associate feedback using pulse surveys, roundtable discussions, etc.
Manages, monitors and interprets DEI dashboard data and assess progress against DEI trends and goals.
Performs DEI administrative functions, including the assembling of teams, assigning responsibilities, developing schedules, and acquiring resources for DEI events, campaigns and programs.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams in executing communication, programming and implementing strategies for retention, engagement, development, inclusion, and promotion of diverse talent.
Serves as primary point of contact for content relating to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) on internal and external communication channels.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:May manage subordinate associates, when managing will be responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
6 years of experience in DEI, project/product/program management and/or content design. Management and/or banking experience preferred.
Strong community partnerships/relationships.
Charismatic with exceptional written and verbal communication skills and excellent active listening skills.
Effective leadership approach, able to collaborate and gain consensus through influence, and work across teams to address business needs.
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Experienced facilitator with strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal awareness with particular emphasis on DEI, leadership, listening, and de-escalation.
Possesses problem solving, creative thinking, and root cause identification skills.
Strong program management skills and partnering skills.
Must be a team player and able to work with and through others.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Passionate and experienced in working with DEI programs and engagement.
Strategic forward thinker, using data to inform solutions, business writing, problem solving, relationship management, community engagement and collaboration.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions.
Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
