JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager will be a “working” project manager who will supervise and coordinate all project disciplines, including process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical and instrument/controls.

The ideal candidate will have substantial career experience in the refinery, chemical or petrochemical industries, and be an expert in project management methodology, with a proven record of accomplishment of successfully and safely executing multi-discipline projects capitalized from $250,000 to $15 million plus, with multiple projects occurring simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and safety on projects.

Experience with executing projects utilizing 3D technology including facilitating value-adding model reviews.

Demonstrated experience with gated project execution procedures such as Front End Loading (FEL).

Extensive experience with project scope development and interfacing with engineering personnel, construction, operations, reliability, maintenance, HSSE, and environmental departments.

Demonstrated experience with MS Project a plus.

Procurement and Construction exposure a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

MBA or Engineering Management degree a plus.

Professional Engineer’s license a plus.

Previous experience with piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating and fixed equipment, and structural systems is a plus.

Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in the refinery, chemical, or petrochemical industry.

Must be TWIC card certified or eligible.

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS

Must have strong verbal and communication skills in the English language.

Team player with a strong drive to deliver against commitments.

Experience with client relationships, interactions, collaboration and coordination.

Demonstrated experience with ability to manage a portfolio of projects, and to establish program KPI’s and performance improvement initiatives.

A self-starter, independent and adaptable who takes well to challenges.

Supervise work of others, both engineers and designers.

Interfaces directly with the client's representative as necessary.
