Senior DevOps Engineer

You have a solid understanding of infrastructure and the skills to integrate CI/CD pipelines into a secure and highly available production environment. You have a positive attitude, are hungry for creativity and enjoy working as part of a team.Position Overview:As a Senior DevOps Engineer in the EverHealth division, you will be a member of our growing DevOps team responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in AWS, building and maintaining tools for application development and deployment, and providing support for application, data, and security engineers. You will be working on creating and improving the Kubernetes workloads, terraform modules, Ansible playbooks, and ensuring service uptime and scalability in response to surging user traffic loads.Our software engineering teams oversee numerous codebases that drive our customer-facing front-end and back-end API services and multiple third-party API integrations. Your role will involve providing support to these teams by enhancing and upkeeping our AWS cloud environments. This will include leveraging tools such as docker-compose, Kubernetes (K8S), Helm, Terraform, Lambda, CircleCI, Argo CD and more.Additionally, we offer support to our data teams as they employ technologies like Fivetran, Redshift, and Apache Superset. They rely on these tools to implement and expand their data infrastructure within AWS, utilizing infrastructure as code and adhering to best practices in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).Responsibilities:Create and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform modules.Collaborate closely with development, performance, and architecture teams to deploy new applications and provide assistance for the maintenance and enhancement of existing non-production and production environments.Establish and sustain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and methodologies.Containerize legacy applications, deploy and manage Kubernetes (K8S) workloads through Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (AWS EKS), ensuring their ongoing maintenance and performance.Introduce innovative deployment and release tools to enhance the productivity of development teams such as ArgoCD.Work on enhancing dependability and reducing the impact of production deployments.Assist with infrastructure and production support:

Support production and non-production infrastructure, including troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and automationSupport application components and dependencies, such as databases and queueing systemsMaintain and improve monitoring and alerting systemsParticipate in on-call rotation for infrastructure support and release deployments

Requirements:The ideal candidate has moderate to advanced level experience with most of the following items, and has operated them in production at scale:10+ years building and maintaining Kubernetes workloads on AWS using an IaC systems such as Terraform and Helm Charts.Linux: configuration, troubleshooting, tuning, hardening, and monitoringConfig Management: Ansible and SaltStackExperience setting up and maintaining an observability and monitoring system such as NewRelic, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, ELKStrong understanding of Database Technologies (Postgres, MariaDb, MySQL etc) and good experience in reviewing SQL scripts for potential performance and other issues.Experience in building a robust CI/CD system using CircleCI or Github ActionsStrong working knowledge of Amazon Web ServicesExperience in building software and systems that are secure by designNice to havesTeam player with excellent collaboration and communication skills with a focus on making the whole group betterCybersecurity experience is a plusPython and other scripting skills are a plusHIPAA based application experience is a plusWhere:The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely.
