Summary StatementThe Race and Sports Book Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership of the Race and Sports Book. This position manages all Writers, Supervisors, and Trade Team of the Race and Sports Book. The Race and Sports Book Director is responsible for risk management, operational oversight of the Race and Sports Book, and adherence to policies and procedures in compliance with gaming regulations.Primary Job Duties:
– Includes but is not limited to:Provides input into and executes strategic plan consistent with the strategic vision.Oversee the Race & Sportsbook staff of Trade Team members, Race & Sports Supervisors, and Ticket Writers.Manage the risk of the Race & Sports book, collaborating with the Trade Team to ensure lines are accurate and limit exposure.Assume all responsibilities of the Race and Sports area, ensuring all policies, procedures, and gaming regulations are adhered to and consistently followed.Work with third-party sports book technology partners and data feed providers to ensure odds, mobile betting apps, and digital content are operating properly.Interact with guests to enhance customer satisfaction, troubleshoot issues, and cultivate relationships with VIP players.Ensure compliance with all property, state, and federal gaming laws and regulations.Use personal device/cellular phone for job-related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.Perform other job-related duties as requested.Qualifications:
– Includes but is not limited to:Understanding of odds, line movement, and risk management.Working knowledge of gaming regulations.Ability to effectively communicate in English.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team.Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.PreferredExperience working in an independent sports book and overseeing an in-house trade team.Experience working in casino sports books within the last 3 years, with knowledge of changing trends in mobile wagering and betting markets.Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.Minimum Education And ExperienceAt least 21 years of age.High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of eight years of experience working in casino sports books.Minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory, manager, or leadership role in casino sports book.Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.Ability to obtain the following:Nevada Gaming RegistrationPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
