Director of Admissions and Enrollment - (STA015165) Director of Admissions and Enrollment-Pharmacy

DescriptionResponsible for the operations of a complex center or multiple departments at the university. Oversees staff and budgets, and projects.
Administers a complex center or multiple departments.
Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
Hires and directs the activities of staff.
Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Directs the daily operations of the University of Houston College of Pharmacy admissions office, such as recruitment activities for prospective applicants, coordinates the efforts of alumni and faculty volunteers. Oversees the activities of the staff in planning, goal-setting, and other facets of on-campus recruiting activities.
Maintains a high-quality recruitment plan to attract highly qualified applicants.
Develops and implements strategies to recruit and enroll a high-quality, diverse entering class.
Manages the admissions and recruiting staff and advances professional development opportunities.
Develops and maintains departmental standards for outreach efforts and customer service.
Collaborates with other constituents to develop and implement coordinated recruitment services and objectives.
Serves in a leadership role in coordinating admissions activities, directing the efforts related to orientation, admissions and recruitment and admissions counseling.
Plans, organizes, and supervises College’s recruitment projects and events.
Provides guidance and counseling to prospective students and tours when needed.
Assesses customer service provided to students and makes recommendations for improvement.
Reviews application files and makes admissions decisions (may include coordinating with student affairs committee for scholarship awarding if part of the admissions process).
Prepares and analyzes statistical reports for internal and external use including the department's annual report.
Participates in the revision and maintenance of the policies and procedures.
Designs recruitment publications, including newsletters, social media, website updates, and office brochures.
Serves on various administrative committees, represents the university on external committees, and participates in internal and external international student programs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
QualificationsBachelors and 7 years experience
Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
Preferred Qualifications:
Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
Seasoned manager with experience managing a team.
Marketing background is a plus.
Previous success in recruiting students.
