Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank for Fall 2025.
Candidates with research interests in any area of chemistry or biochemistry are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an externally funded, nationally-recognized research program in chemistry or biochemistry that aligns with one or both of our
Materials Science, Engineering and Commercialization
or
Integrated Molecular and Biophysical Chemistry
PhD programs.
The candidate must also be dedicated to the teaching and mentoring of students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
This position is subject to the availability of funds.Required QualificationsAn earned doctorate in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field prior to employment.Relevant postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.A strong publication record. Assessment will focus on recent publications.Ability to teach chemistry or biochemistry undergraduate and graduate courses.Ability to mentor chemistry or biochemistry undergraduate and graduate research students.Preferred QualificationsEvidence of research expertise in polymer/soft materials, or in other areas that complement the department.Only applications submitted through the Texas State University website will be accepted and considered:
