Job Summary
Under the direction of the Associate AD /Major Gifts Officer, the Director of Annual Giving and Events is responsible for building strong and trusting relationships with donors and donor prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation, closure, and stewardship. They will focus on developing personal relationships that result in new gifts and/or increased support to Jacksonville University Athletics. Using various communication mediums such as email, social media, the Raisers Edge, video conferencing, phone, and other marketing automation tools, they will steward donors, provide information that deepens their understanding and connection to the university, and solicit them for annual gifts. Donor acquisition, retention, renewal, and upgrade are essential elements of raising critical current philanthropic resources in addition to building a pipeline for the annual giving program. This position will also manage the athletic ticket operations and serve as the ticketing department liaison for campus and donor events.

Duties/Responsibilities
The Director of Annual Giving & Events is expected to:
Manage an assigned portfolio of prospective leadership annual giving donors. Cultivate relationships with these donors via email, phone, social media, video conferencing, texting, and other marketing tools. Perform 50+ outbound touchpoints per day.
Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences (averaging 50+ outbound touchpoints per day) across the portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant donor communication.
Directly facilitate the growth and expansion of sport specific annual giving booster clubs such as The Hoop Room, The Champions Club, The 88 Club, and the Diamond Club.
Demonstrate to donors the impact of their giving. Provide information on university developments and programs relative to their interests. Share upcoming opportunities to attend events, volunteer, participate in alumni association activities/services, or otherwise deepen their engagement with the university.
Solicit donors to make new gifts. Promote philanthropic opportunities, such as university and college giving priorities, Dolphin Dash, and the Giving Campaign.
Develop and maintain broad knowledge of the university, such as admissions, athletics, colleges, and continuing education. Develop and leverage a network of contacts throughout the university to access additional information. Build out resource hub/content warehouse of relevant content to share with donors.
Develop a pipeline to meet increasing annual fundraising goals by working with the University Advancement department to qualify, cultivate and solicit prospects.
Collaborate with colleagues across various campus departments in the development process.
Work with supervisor to recommend and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects.
Submit contact reports, moves, and prospect management activities.
Have the ability to follow procedures in coordination with University Advancement to ensure effective collecting, recording, accounting, acknowledgment, and follow-up on all gifts.
Work collaboratively with administration, volunteers, and other advancement staff as appropriate.
Identify and interact with current and potential donors and, as appropriate, refer donors and potential donors to other development staff members.
Manage the day-to-day operations for the athletics ticket office.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of ticket information on official athletics website.
Serve as department liaison to ticketing operations for campus.
Travel is necessary for this position requiring flexibility in work hours to include evenings and weekends as needed.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
Must be able to physically perform essential job duties or have special accommodations arranged in advance.
