Research Coordinator

to coordinate all activities related to the following described research study to include regulatory and protocol standard operating procedures and processes. The Research Coordinator will provide support for a study evaluating a brief, intensive, individualized treatment that trains automatic use of cognitive strategies tailored to patients’ everyday cognitive challenges, to maximize maintenance of gains and provide tools for service members or veterans to manage future challenges. The treatment will be evaluated for delivery in-person and via telehealth, to determine its effectiveness in decreasing everyday cognitive complaints among patients with a history of mTBI and persistent cognitive symptoms.This position will be in support of the Desmond Doss Health Clinic, Schofield Barracks, a clinic of Tripler Army Medical Center, located in Honolulu, HI.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

ResponsibilitiesWrites protocol applications and consent forms for Institutional Review Boards. Prepares and submits required institution and federal documentation for the conduct of the trial.Manages regulatory issues for all programs upon receipt of IRB approval. This includes preparing any addenda and/or annual progress reports, submitting adverse event/safety information to the IRB, updating/maintaining regulatory requirements such as updated investigator CVs, changes in principal investigator, FDA form 1572, etc. Also, maintains accurate, regulatory-compliant program/study binders.Coordinates efforts of all agencies involved in the protocol approval process.Coordinates communication across study sites.Coordinates all aspects of study activities including participant scheduling, enrollments, and follow ups, as well as data collection, entry, and maintenance.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

QualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related scientific discipline.Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorking knowledge of a broad range of medical specialties.Working knowledge of all applicable federal and military regulations regarding the use of human subjects in research.Must be familiar with Institutional Review Board activities and actions.Must be able to set and meet deadlines.Must have great interpersonal skills.Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.Physical CapabilitiesLifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in an office setting.CompensationThe hourly pay range for this position is $24.09-$29.32.
