Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in network design, engineering, build, and support. This role requires strong expertise in routing and switching (specifically with BGP and OSPF), LAN/WAN, Meraki WiFi solutions (newest version), F5 Load Balancers, Fortinet, SDWAN, and Network Cloud solutions. The Network Engineer will also support Network Operations and ensure the stability and security of Network Infrastructure in a large, complex, global enterprise environment that is largely hosted in AWS and GCP and will work with Cisco Nexus 7K, 7700, 5K and 9K switches, Cisco Nexus 2K FEX modules, and other Cisco, Checkpoint and F5 routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure to support business operations and provide L2 and L3 Network operations support.
Experience with Cisco Nexus and configuring and maintaining routing and switching protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
Manage and optimize LAN/WAN networks to ensure high availability and performance.
Deploy and support Meraki WiFi solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity across all locations.
Implement and manage F5 Load Balancers to optimize traffic distribution and enhance network performance.
Configure and maintain Checkpoint Firewalls and Fortinet security solutions to protect network integrity.
Design and implement SDWAN solutions to improve network efficiency and reliability.
Manage network cloud solutions, with a preference for experience in AWS and/or GCP.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to support network-related projects and initiatives.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in large enterprise environments supporting globally distributed teams/operations.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Network Engineering and Operations (willing and able to do both).
Experience with Cisco Nexus and very strong expertise in routing and switching protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues from layers 1 – 7 of the OSI model and extensive experience with LAN/WAN.
CCIE is STRONGLY PREFERRED – At minimum, candidates should have CCNA, CCNP.
Experience with SDWAN.
Meraki WiFi solutions.
F5 Load Balancers.
Fortinet and Checkpoint security solutions, Zero Trust (zScaler etc).
Proficiency in Network Cloud solutions, preferably with AWS and/or GCP.
Knowledge of Network Monitoring tools and platforms.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices and Agile/Kanban methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
