This is a Community Service Work Study student employment position. Applicants must have Federal Work Study funds in their Financial Aid package.
As a member of the Apartment Set-Up Team, you will help to prepare apartments for refugees! You will be part of a team effort to make sure refugees' new homes are move-in ready. This position is supervised by Peter Vins, the Refugee Services Volunteer Coordinator. This position involves the physical set up of apartments to welcome clients, and the student will be a passenger, not driver, in vehicles that are picking up furniture. The ideal candidate would have their own transportation to the storage facility.
Location:
U-Store Self Storage, 1130 NE 28th Ave, Portland, OR. 97232Core Duties:Picking up donations of furniture alongside the Refugee Services Volunteer Coordinator.Unloading and setting up items in the client’s new home.Other relevant duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Must have Federal Work Study fund in Financial Aid Package (contact finaid@up.edu with questions).Able to lift and move furniture and boxes.Able to navigate stairs.Preferred Qualifications:Enjoys working out, being physical.Physical Requirements:Able to lift furniture and boxes.Posting Number:
