doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time.About the Job:This position works within the Network team and reports directly to the IT Manager - Network. The person that fills this role will primarily be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting Vulcan’s cloud networking to include: Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) networking, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking, Azure networking, and network documentation. Secondary responsibilities include: tier 2 technical support to Vulcan Field Technicians, Juniper SRX administration & management, Fortinet administration & management, and other duties as assigned. The Network department is responsible for supporting all communications throughout the Vulcan enterprise. The candidate filling this role will work directly with our IT Field Technicians supporting local sites, our on-premise & cloud compute & storage teams, our database team, our Information Security team as well as our IT Business Partners.The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be able to thrive in a corporate environment working with technical peers, architects, developers, and the business. In addition, they will have the ability to excel in a team oriented environment; freely sharing information, learning from and teaching co-workers.What You'll Do:Administer and support all aspects of networking in Vulcan’s cloud platforms:Amazon Web Services (AWS)Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Microsoft AzureGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP)Design and implement Vulcan’s cloud platform network architectures.Configure and manage Vulcan’s cloud platform networking services, such as VPCs, subnets, security groups, and route tables.Implement Vulcan’s cloud platform network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.Monitor and troubleshoot Vulcan’s cloud platform network performance issues.Work with other team members to integrate Vulcan’s cloud platform networking solutions with on-premises networks.Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud platform networking technologies and best practices.Network Documentation.Skills You'll Need:Required Experience and Skills:3+ years AWS IP network support.Expert knowledge of routing protocols to include: BGP & OSPF.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience in the following is a plus (NOT REQUIRED):B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field is preferred.Experience with OCI, Azure, and/or GCP networking.Experience with Juniper EX and SRX platforms.Experience with Solarwinds Orion.Experience with HP/Aruba WiFi.Experience with Fortinet next generation firewalls.Other Requirements:Ability to work overtime as needed, including occasional nights and weekends.Ability to work in a rotational 24/7 on-call environment.Ability to write and speak English clearly, including the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people.Strong listening and customer service skills.Ability to organize work effectively and meet deadlines.Ability to perform duties with moderate to minimal supervision.Some travel is required.What You’ll Like About Us:Great Company Culture.
