The
Senior Vice President, Relationship Banking
is responsible for promoting a sales and service culture and ensuring superior customer experiences by providing retail team leadership along with ongoing coaching and training of assigned staff. This position is responsible for achieving Bank goals through business development and new product initiatives while ensuring compliance with state and federal banking regulations. The
Senior Vice President, Relationship Banking
is also responsible for leading the Bank’s acquisition efforts for deposits, treasury management, and consumer lending through the development of innovative sales and service techniques and products by working closely with commercial bankers, marketing, and the leadership team to develop strategies to acquire new and retain existing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages the job performance and provides/oversees the training and development of assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
Leads staff to expand the customer base and bank profitability. Assures the retail area is actively deepening customer relationships through effective profiling, establishing a referral process, direct sales efforts, cross-selling, and outbound contacts.
Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in all aspects of retail/consumer banking.
Works with the Chief Credit Officer to ensure the development and implementation of effective policies for consumer loan products and management of the organization’s consumer loan portfolio.
Works with Senior Leadership and appropriate sales staff members to further enhance or improve our product offerings to make them more attractive/marketable, wherever necessary or feasible.
Assists in the development of new products/services that will provide further differentiation for Village Bank.
Regularly evaluates the pricing and structure of all deposit products and treasury management services based on market analysis and extensive knowledge of the Bank’s customer base.
Manages, monitors, and measures treasury management sales across the Bank.
Develops workflows and processes that improve communication between operations, retail, and commercial departments, increasing efficiencies, and leading to an improved customer experience.
Continues to look for the differentiation and relevance for each product and service that is promoted by Village Bank.
Helps create unique opportunities for visibility within our existing and new communities.
Works at identifying our niche markets and developing differentiation within those markets.

Qualifications
To be considered, you must have the following:
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or other strongly preferred. Previous experience working in a community bank strongly desired.
7+ years of financial institution experience in retail/consumer lending and direct customer deposit. Previous people management experience required.
Mastered knowledge of related state and federal banking regulations and other Bank operational policies.
A strong leader who can lead by example by continuously displaying leadership and professionalism throughout the workday, ensuring healthy communication and teamwork between departments and bank locations, leading to an inclusive, positive, and healthy culture.
A team player who is both strategic and tactical, with the ability to think critically to set a vision and lead the team to deliver.
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
