Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Space Systems Senior Network Systems Engineer to support Space Systems Command Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (SSC/BC) portfolio. The position is available in Colorado Springs, CO.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Support enterprise integration and modernization of tactical level Command, Control & Communications (C3) capabilities to transform satellite operations and improve resiliency.

Perform space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for all projects and programs, as required, to support any stage of the acquisition life cycle.

Identify areas of improvement along actionable recommendations.

Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) and architecture development support, including definition and development of Space Protection and Space Control mission area architectures and alternatives (enterprise, mission area, and mission thread products).

Perform requirements analysis and decomposition, including system performance test and verification.

Perform engineering analyses to predict and define problems, define/design actionable corrective measures, and operational implementation of systems.

Review and assess contractor designs and conduct trade studies on alternative system design approaches.

Participate or lead technical meetings and government-led studies, assess technical baselines and ensure system modifications meet requirements.

Qualifications Required (Skills)

BS/BA with more than 16 years of experience; MS/MA with more than 13 years; PHD or JD with more than 10 years

Expert in wide area network architecture planning, design, and applicable open systems interconnections layers in space applications

Highly knowledgeable in Information Technology Service Management

Highly knowledgeable in architecture and system requirements development

Experience performing government space systems program support efforts to develop, update, and coordinate program documentation

Experience with engaging various DoD organizations to coordinate architecture alignment efforts, and mission partner requirements collection

Experience with requirements traceability, system-of-systems integration and testing, test planning, development and execution testing

Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and writing) skills.

Must have experience in using critical thinking to prepare written reports and presentations for decision makers.

MUST HAVE AT A MINIMUM, A CURRENT TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE AND BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A TS/SCI CLEARANCE, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT.

Qualifications Desired

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

Experience in the developing cyber security artifacts to support system accreditation.

Proficiency with analysis tools for space applications (STK Comm module, Riverbed)

Experience developing required documentation to setup communications connectivity at military installations.
