We are committed to our members’ financial wellbeing and the prosperity and quality of life in the communities we serve.About the RoleKitsap Credit Union is hiring a part-time hourly AP/AR Specialist to work hybrid out of our corporate downtown Bremerton office. This role will be approximately 25 hours per week with benefits. The AR/AP Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties including accounts payable and receivables, maintaining prepaid modules, preparing reports, making reconciliations, and tax reporting.Principal AccountabilitiesProcess accounts receivables, accounts payable, expense reimbursements accurately and in a timely manner.Maintain and coordinate the tracking of projects and capital expenditures.Maintain prepaid module, and balance to the general ledger.Prepare and transmit various tax reporting, including annual property taxes, quarterly use taxes, and annual 1099 reporting.Research and resolve accounts payable or accounts receivable issues with employees or vendors; issue stop payments; communicate with vendors regarding billing adjustments and/or disputes.Assist annual budgeting process by gathering information and research questions pertaining to pre-paid expenses, annual leases, capital and project budget items, etc.Producing month end accrual report and research any discrepancies.Prepare various schedules for annual financial statement audit.Maintain lease files and documentation.Contribute to effective department and credit union operations by performing other related duties as assigned.Qualifications and Education RequirementsAssociates degree required including basic accounting classes or equivalent experience.One year experience in accounts payable or related position.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.General understanding of a general ledger chart of accounts and subsidiary ledgers.Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with credit union staff as well as members and outside vendors.Ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to prioritize and organize work.Preferred RequirementsExperience with Concur software system.What We OfferMedical, Dental, Vision, Short- and Long-term Disability, Life and AD&D InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramChoose from a PPO medical plan or a High Deductible with a Health Savings Account3% KCU funded Safe Harbor Contribution to your 401KKCU will match up to 2% of your 401K contributionsAll 401K contributions are 100% vestedPotential annual incentive in all roles within Kitsap Credit Union8 hours of paid volunteer time offDiscounts on KCU's products and servicesPaid Care.com membershipEmployment is contingent upon satisfactory credit, background, and reference checks.
