Muon Space seeks a Cost Accountant to join our Finance Team, focused on managing, analyzing, and controlling operations and production costs (OpEx and CapEx) and inventory accounting. This role is critical for providing the necessary detailed financial data that informs inventory management strategies, supports program controlling and ensures the overall financial health of our operations.The position will be located on-site at our headquarters in Mountain View, CA.Responsibilities:3-5 years of traditional accounting.Manage and maintain the cost accounting across systems.Review and analyze inventory and margin reports.Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of inventory and gross margin schedules to management.Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine effects on costs.Assist in new product costings and establish standard costing for product bill of materials.Prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Analyze costs and operational data to report on performance against budget and operational efficiency.Prepare detailed account analysis and/or reconciliations for inventory and project costs.Support internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules and tax schedules.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification is preferred.1-2 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or satellite manufacturing. 3+ years preferred.Proven ability to manage cost accounting systems and processes.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.Proficiency in procurement and financial software systems and Google Sheets/MS Excel.Excellent communication skills for reporting and managing internal relationships.The salary range for this role is $95K- $125K and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.About Muon Space
