H.W. Kaufman Group is seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to play a pivotal role in guiding the financial strategy of our organization. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for financial forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, and analysis. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and leadership abilities to drive informed decision-making and ensure the financial health and sustainability of the company.
ResponsibilitiesFinancial Forecasting & Planning:
Develop and oversee the financial forecasting process, incorporating inputs from various departments and external factors.
Generate accurate and timely financial projections, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Budget Management:
Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish realistic and achievable financial targets.
Monitor budget performance throughout the fiscal year, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Provide guidance and support to department leaders in managing their budgets effectively, optimizing resource allocation to achieve organizational goals.
Strategic Planning:
Partner with executive leadership to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with company objectives and market dynamics.
Conduct scenario analyses and sensitivity modeling to evaluate the impact of different strategic initiatives on financial performance.
Assess potential investments, acquisitions, and other business opportunities, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
Perform in-depth financial analyses, including profitability analysis, variance analysis, and cost-benefit analysis, to support business decisions.
Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards to monitor and communicate financial performance metrics effectively.
Leadership & Development:
Foster cross-functional partnerships with other departments, promoting a collaborative approach to financial planning and analysis.
Opportunities to grow in scope of responsibilities as the business grows.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred, CPA preferred
8+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis; can include operational accounting experience
Proven expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
Experience interacting with C-level executives and board members
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling software, and ERP systems
Salesforce experience preferred
