Job Overview - Tax Specialist:

Take on a key role as a Tax Specialist, ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of tax filings for onshore and offshore master-feeder fund structures, with our client in Boston, MA. Reporting to the Tax Senior, you'll handle tax computations and compliance, contributing to the company’s financial success.

Compensation:

$85,000 - $100,000/year + bonus

Location:

Boston, MA

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Tax Specialist:

Tax Computations:

Handle partnership taxable income, tax allocations, and tax return preparation (including Schedule K-1s and various IRS forms).

Compliance Filings:

Prepare and file Forms 926, 8858, 8865, 8886, 5471, and W-8, and assist in other required tax filings.

ASC 740 Analysis:

Conduct analyses for Uncertain Tax Positions and ensure proper documentation.

Month-End Close:

Support the month-end close process, including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.

Differences:

Analyze and identify book-to-tax differences, including wash sales, PFICs, bond bifurcation, and amortization of discounts.

Qualifications for the Tax Specialist:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, MST preferred).

Experience:

3-5+ years of Financial Services experience, particularly with Hedge/Mutual Funds or Investment companies.

Technical Skills:

Advanced MS Excel proficiency required (experience with Total Return accounting system is a plus).

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of financial instruments, fixed income securities, and tax laws related to financial products.

Skills:

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
