Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
8+ years of experience in applied economics, with a proven track record of leadership and impact in a technology or e-commerce environment.
Expertise in advanced causal modeling techniques, both in experimental and observational settings.
Fluency in at least one statistical software package such as R, Stata, Matlab, SAS.
10+ years of relevant experience in industry, consulting, government, or academic research.
Expertise with both reduced-form and structural modeling.
Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques for prediction and classification problems.
Proven ability to mentor and develop junior scientists.
Excellent written and verbal technical communication with both technical and business audiences.
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects and driving organizational change through data-driven decision-making.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing ambiguity and uncertainty with poise and resilience.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex economic concepts into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.

We're seeking a highly experienced Principal Economist with expertise in causal modeling to lead our efforts in understanding the economic impact of our efforts in this dynamic space.
Key job responsibilities:
Spearhead collaborative efforts with finance, CBA (Cost-Benefit Analysis), and business teams to define robust metrics and methodologies for measuring the attributed and incremental value of Fashion Tech programs and features.
Develop advanced frameworks and models to assess the causal economic impact of content, programs, and customer experience enhancements throughout the customer purchase funnel.
Lead the resolution of complex challenges related to content attribution and program incrementality, leveraging existing systems and methodologies while exploring innovative approaches where necessary.
Conduct in-depth economic analyses to address critical business questions, such as estimating the economic value of key programs and evaluating the ongoing business impact of post-launch customer experience improvements.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with data scientists, economists, and business leaders to integrate economic insights into strategic decision-making processes and shape future initiatives.
Stay at the forefront of industry trends, economic research, and best practices in causal modeling and econometric techniques, continuously enhancing our methodologies and frameworks to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

The Fashion Tech organization has a mission to make Amazon the most-loved fashion destination globally through technology by building novel experiences that bring a diverse breadth of customers to shop fashion in the Amazon store. The Fashion Intelligence team improves the speed, accuracy, and standards of data-driven decisions across all programs within Fashion Tech. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $294,700/year in our highest geographic market.
