Executive Director of Special ServicesPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Assesses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic procedures and helps identify all types of exceptional children.Interprets diagnoses to school personnel, other concerned professionals, and parents.Makes recommendations on ways to facilitate a student’s learning and total adjustment.Participates in the decision-making process and placement of all types of exceptional children.Consults with parents, staff members, and mental health professionals.May conduct short term individual or group therapy for students.Serves as a resource person in the areas of learning and behavioral psychology.Acts as liaison between the school and the various community/state mental health agencies.Assist administrators, teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians in understanding and adhering to legislation and regulations relevant to general and special education services.Maintains clinical file(s) on all referred students.Other duties as assigned by administration.BENEFITS:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
