Legal Counsel (Trading) - Global Resourcing Company
We are looking for a lawyer with expertise across energy, specifically commodity trading, to support a global resourcing company for an initial period of 10 months.The role will principally involve supporting financing transactions, including pre-export finance, reserve-based lending, acquisition finance and trade finance.The successful lawyer will be part of a diverse and collegiate team, and there may be scope to get involved in the other activities which include:Day-to-day support for the operational aspects of physical commodity trading, including shipping, quantity and quality claims, demurrage, non-performance and other contractual issues.Lower carbon activities, such as biofuels, circular economy and emission reduction projects.Joint ventures, storage arrangements and new country access.Ideally you will have:Experience of commodity trading, commercial agreements, offtakes and financing documents.Ability to work both autonomously and as a great teammate working in a global function.Strong problem-solving skills, with the creativity to propose different options and build consensus.This assignment can be full time or part time, working on a hybrid model with some days working from the London office.If this sounds like you and you're looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you.Why Join LOD?People come to us for a whole range of reasons – they might be looking for time for their interests, for work alongside other projects, or just want a change.
