Team / division overview

The Real Estate division of DWS is a full-service Real Estate manager with approximately EUR 60 billion AUM globally. DWS Real Estate acquires and manages investments in individual assets or Real Estate portfolios on behalf of funds and separate accounts.

The US Real Estate franchise is responsible for the origination, acquisition, asset management and disposition of Real Estate assets across the US for both Debt and Equity strategies. The team works on diverse tasks across various Real Estate asset classes such as office, industrial, retail, logistics, hotels and residential schemes.

Role Details

As the Head of Asset Management for Real Estate Debt, you will be responsible for:

Primary point of contact for overseeing the management and performance of Real Estate debt assets, ensuring alignment with investment strategies and risk toleranceDeveloping and implementing strategies to maximize returns while effectively managing risks associated with Real Estate debt investmentsOverseeing the Asset and Risk management of the Real Estate debt portfolioTaking the lead in developing and implementing an appropriate and robust risk rating framework and working with risk management to develop portfolio stress testingDeveloping post-closing loan surveillance processes, to include monthly, quarterly and annual reportingPrimarily responsible for watchlist oversight with focus on early detection of loan issuesMaintain closing and due diligence checklists for all closings. Review and approval of all loan closing legal documentationStructure all loan modifications, or workouts. Modify, extend, renew and/or workout loans as applicable, with the approval the Investment Committee, as applicableWe are looking for

Extensive experience of asset management across commercial Real Estate Debt covering a variety of debt instruments and complex holding structuresProven track record of effectively managing real estate debt portfolios and mitigating risks to achieve investment objectivesExcellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key drivers of investment performanceStrong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive results in a dynamic environment.Strong initiative and ability to work independently and exercise good judgementExperience working with multiple parties, debt instruments and confident in addressing legal, tax, accounting and financial issues within the commercial Real Estate sectorEducated to degree level in a Finance related discipline from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or an acceptable level of industry experienceWhat we'll offer you:

The salary range for this position in New York City is $256,000 - $512,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
