Portfolio Manager, Transition Management

We are seeking a portfolio manager with fixed income or multi-asset experience to join our Transition Management team. This team is responsible for developing and executing implementation strategies, analyzing performance, and completing attribution analysis during the pre, intra, and post implementation time frames.
As a Portfolio Manager you must have a demonstrable understanding of risk optimization models and risk management techniques to identify portfolio exposures and designing optimal trading strategies. You will also be required to research implementation costs associated with various trading strategies and implementing the most cost-effective transition strategy all while working collaboratively across the investment division.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Work with clients, consultants, money managers, custodians and other team members to determine transition constraints and develop optimal transition strategies around the constraints. Act as the project manager to coordinate and implement the strategy developed. Act as the portfolio manager of the transition portfolio during the transition period.
Continually evaluate, automate and improve internal processes and infrastructure supporting the transition process. Seek to develop external relationships with custodians, money managers, and correspondent brokers to explore additional efficiencies for Russell Implementation Services.
Create and present detailed pre-analysis and post-analysis reports to clients which include portfolio risk decomposition, transaction cost analysis, and portfolio performance reporting.
Analyze transition event performance, including a breakdown of performance attributions and intra-day analysis. Streamline and develop a process to allow this information to be disseminated in a concise manner.
Drive transition strategies through detailed analysis of portfolio attributes and implement trading strategies to affect successful transition outcomes. This is accomplished through the use of risk models, optimization systems and other trading analytic systems. Research trade execution costs associated with various trading strategies and implement the most cost-effective strategy.
Complete post-trade reports and deliver results to the client in a timely manner. Continually seek to improve format of data within these reports according to client feedback and industry standards.
Download data, custodian on-line systems, and proprietary and industry analytic tools. Extensive use of Russell's Portfolio Accounting System and other analytic tools will be required. Coordinate data on systems among business units, clients and custodians. Utilize Bloomberg to analyze portfolio constituents and verify data provided from external parties.
Your Expertise:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business or a related area required, advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred
Experience in fixed-income is required
2+ years experience in the investment industry in portfolio management, capital markets, or servicing custodians, managers and brokers desired.
Knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management strategies, and statistical analysis.
Knowledge of equity trading costs and settlement and clearing practices, and the global securities markets preferred.
Knowledge of money manager, custodian and broker operations considered a plus.
Project management experience; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong client service and communication skills especially as they pertain to communicating complex concepts verbally and in writing to individuals with varying degrees of investment experience.
Detail oriented and very precise with numbers.
