ROLE SUMMARY
The position of the A/P Supervisor is performing accounting support and administrative work in classifying and processing accounting transactions, maintaining, and reconciling assigned accounts and compiling, reviewing and verifying data/information to prepare financial and accounting reports. This person should have a good overall understanding of the accounts payable and accounting cycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure invoices are entered in AvidAscend timely for approvalProcess vendor payments upon invoice approval via ACH and checksEstablish and maintain prepaid accounts in the core systemEstablish and maintain fixed assets in the core systemCalculate and report tax liabilities accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with tax regulationsAssist in internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and supporting documentationAnalyze invoices to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvementReview vendor and service provider agreementsMaintain contract terms and send renewal notices to business ownersSet up and maintain accurate vendor recordsProvide support to bank vendors, including answering inquiries related to invoices and paymentsCreate reports detailing accounts payable statusInvestigate and resolve discrepanciesReconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts as assignedPost journal entries to record transactions to the general ledgerPrepare annual 1099s for distribution to Directors and vendorsAssist in the annual escheatment processAssist with the annual fixed assets inventoryUpdate and maintain policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Education/Experience:2-year College Degree required in Accounting, Business, or related field and 3 years of experience working with accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end closing, general accounting processes of inter-company, prepaids and fixed assets OR 4-year College Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field1+ year of supervisory experience

Required Knowledge & Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced skill in ExcelGood analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet deadlinesStrong work ethic and attention to detail
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:Ability to collaborate with other departments throughout the BankProficiency in FIS/Horizon or similar bank-related core accounting system preferredProficiency with AvidAscend or similar-related accounts payable, fixed asset and prepaid software
