Graduate Web Developer - MM595

Due to growth, our excellent client is looking for a Junior Web Designer / Developer to join their fun and friendly team in Yate (easily commutable from Bristol and South Gloucestershire).
In this role, you will work closely with both the Marketing/Content Executive and current Web Developer, to support in all relevant projects, and will be responsible for keeping the company website up to date, efficient and customer friendly to ensure continued repeat business and an excellent representation of the company. You will be allowed autonomy and the freedom to bring your own ideas to the table in a supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will either have some previous working experience in Web Development/Design or even be a graduate with experience in a relevant degree such as Computer Science, Web Design, Digital Media Development, Software Engineering etc.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain websites using WordPress.
Design visually appealing, responsive websites with a focus on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI).
Have an awareness of SEO and its importance.
Track and report on website performance and user behaviour.
Optimise websites for speed, performance, and SEO.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design and development with business objectives.
Assist the Web Developer in troubleshooting and debugging website issues.
Continuously stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in web design, development, SEO, and analytics.
Support the marketing team leader with design-oriented tasks, not limited to web design.
Key Attributes:
Previous experience with WordPress.
Understanding/awareness of SEO.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with UI/UX design principles.
Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development.
Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (1hr paid lunch break)
Salary:
£25,000 - £29,000 per annum, depending on experience + benefits including:
25 days holiday PLUS bank holidays.
