Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.About the role:As a Medical Director, Watchman at Boston Scientific, you will play a pivotal role in influencing the advancement of Watchman therapies across the globe. Your expertise will guide our clinical strategy, working closely with our research and development team and key opinion leaders to help ensure Watchman remains innovative, safe, and effective for an increasing number of patients needing left atrial appendage closure.This is a hybrid position (in office for a minimum of three days per week) with the flexibility to be located in Arden Hills, MN, Marlborough, MA, or Valencia, CA. You will have the opportunity to discuss your preferred working location with your Talent Acquisition Specialist.Your responsibilities will include:Scientific Guidance and Collaboration: Provide medical and scientific guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including clinical trials teams, functional units, study investigators, and regulatory agencies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with medical objectives for the Watchman team.Operational Support and Oversight: Participate in clinical trial planning, protocol development, and investigator selection.Train internal and external personnel on medical aspects related to trial conduct.Therapeutic Area Expertise: Leverage your medical expertise throughout the device life cycle and serve as a medical advisor for regulatory matters.Participate in the evaluation of adjacent business development opportunities.Innovation and Technology Integration: Contribute to the application of new technologies in solving complex medical challenges.Provide clinical due diligence for new product development and business initiatives.Clinical and Scientific Communication: Write and edit clinical and scientific reports, and review and approve educational materials.Ensure accuracy and consistency in clinical trial protocols.Develop and maintain relationships with key thought leaders in the medical community, preferably interventional cardiology.Participate in local, national, and international medical conferences.Required qualifications:Medical degree (MD/DO or equivalent) in Interventional Cardiology/Cardiology required.Minimum clinical experience of 10 years in a similar capacity as a physician or medical device industry.Fundamental understanding of clinical trial design, medical device regulatory pathway, and the competitive landscape of the therapy.Travel requirements up to 30%.Preferred qualifications:Master’s degree in healthcare or business.Prior experience with interventional cardiac therapies preferred.Adept at presenting and discussing clinical data with peers/clinical community.Requisition ID:
