Overview

Core Faculty will join an innovative family residency program in collaboration with the Program Director (PD) and other faculty members. You all will be part of creating and shaping the family residency program. Under the direction of the PD for the Family Medicine Residency Program, core faculty members may serve as clinical leaders and resident mentors; assuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and patient care as part of a robust accredited residency program. Core Faculty members may dedicate time to residency training, ensuring that all ACGME requirements are met, while providing excellent clinical care.Core faculty members must practice full spectrum family medicine including pediatrics, women's health, and inpatient.

Responsibilities

A. Patient Care

- Faculty Member will provide high quality patient care in a timely, cost-efficient manner to a broad range of patients consistent with the specialty of Family Medicine. Overall the faculty member will spend clinical time (caring for patients from his/her own panel and supervising resident physicians. This will be in accordance with Beebe Healthcare requirements as outlined, but not limited to, the below:Maintain board certification through regular CME activities and board examinationsMaintains personal panel of patients and provides supervision to the resident in the outpatient and inpatient clinical settingsProvides care to newborns, children, women and adults in all settingsProficient in common procedures within the scope of Family MedicineParticipates in night call activities and inpatient rounds on patients of all agesParticipates in weekend call activities for the practice and residencyUses resources (referrals and testing) and treatment appropriate to practice philosophyEngages in all practice policies/procedures including QA projectsMaintains hospital privilegesB. Resident Education

- The faculty member will spend time participating in the training and education of residents within the standards as expected by the ACGME and includes, but is not limited to, the following:Serves as a role model by precepting and seeing patients of all ages in the Family Medicine ClinicServes as attending physician on Family Medicine Hospital rounds and dedicates appropriate time and effort to teaching in the hospital settingAttends conferences regularly and presents lectures regularly throughout the yearRequired to participate in developing and in assessing required and elective curriculum designServes as an advisor to assigned residents, ensuring evaluations and problem solving as per resident policyCompletes required evaluation of residents in office and hospital settingsAssist with the recruiting, interviewing, selection, and ranking of prospective residents during recruitment seasonParticipates in Scholarly Activity projects with residentsMaintains appropriate level of Scholarly Activities consistent with RC in Family Medicine RequirementsC. Other Duties

- Faculty Members will perform other duties at discretion of program director that are designed to enhance the program:Involvement in the communityServing on other committees/representing the program in national, state, and local organizations as required by the program director
