Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a Trauma Medical Director for our Level III trauma center. The candidate would be joining our established hospital-based practice of 11 General Surgeons and multiple experienced Advance Practice Providers. Candidate must be BE/BC in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Trauma/Critical Care.
The ED is the busiest in North Carolina and one of the top 10 busiest in the nation. It is designated a Level III Trauma Center with plans to become Level II in the near future. There is a robust hospitalist service, interventional cardiology 24/7, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, etc. The facility is Chest Pain and Stroke accredited. Our providers perform a wide variety of surgery, including minimally invasive procedures for acute and chronic conditions as well as acute care surgery. DaVinci XI on site and health system has the most comprehensive Davinci program in the region doing many sub specialties.
This position will be a mix of cases. Strong surgical skills are desired, and trauma interest and added qualifications in surgical critical care are highly desirable.
