You will work with the most cutting edge MicroGEO satellite technology and perform inspections in several workcenters to verify our hardware meets the highest level of quality. The ideal candidate is self-driven, extremely detail oriented, possesses comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and quality tools, and seeks a highly cross functional dynamic environment.You will help create a structure for executing and improving processes for non-conformance management, material review board (MRB), containments, and corrective and preventive action activities. You will drive operational excellence in non-conformance management and work to reduce future non-conformances. You will build key relationships with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply and a deep understanding of Astranis systems and processes.RolePerform in-process inspection and final verification of flight hardware to drawing, process specifications, and work order requirements supporting multiple work centers (assembly, integration, wire harnessing, or test)Identify, document, and verify resolution of production and test non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and pursue corrective action as requiredInterface with engineering and production to communicate and help resolve nonconforming issuesIndependently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete mannerSupport quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesReview and approve specifications and build documentation for completeness, accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality objectivesDevelop, maintain, and take actions to improve quality metrics such as First Pass Yield, nonconformance trends, and quality escapesSupport the Material Review Board (MRB) process by managing non-conformances, evaluating their root cause, and implementing corrective and preventive actionRequirementsBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or 5+ years of quality or manufacturing experience in an aerospace, military or manufacturing environmentSubstantial knowledge of the control of nonconforming hardware, failure/root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action processesExperience reading and interpreting design drawings and CAD modelsExperience with performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices and lab equipment (microscopes, testers, scopes, etc)Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently with a strong work ethic, be innovative, detail oriented, possess initiative, and team orientedWilling and able to work overtime and/or weekends as requiredBonusKnowledgeable with ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systemsExperience inspecting solder, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface mounted devices in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 standardsWire harness experience in accordance with IPC-A-620 standardsWhat we offer:All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals.Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources.
