Job Description:Strategic Sourcing ManagerLocation McLean VA (No Relocation available)The Strategic Sourcing Manager (General Services) is an agile, strategic and crucial role in driving innovation, efficiency, development & implementation of
sub-category buying strategies, co-pilot optimization of resources, and growth across our organization. This role is part of our America's Commercial/ Indirect Procurement organization in Mars Global Services (MGS) located at our office in McLean, VA.
Through strong leadership this role will build optimal collaboration and partnership with all global teams and relevant senior stakeholders across all segments to meet Mars’ future plans and support MGS Commercial’s strategy.Reporting directly to the Americas Sr. Director for General Services & Supply, this role will be responsible for working in stretch collaboration with all category managers, SET (Sourcing Excellence Team) members, and managing our regional spend . The category managers across the America’s are responsible for Contingent Workforce, Professional Services (Consulting/Financial Services/Risk Management), Travel & Events, Fleet, and Human Resources categories.We are looking for an energetic and dynamic self-starter who can deliver exceptional results. Advanced business degree (MBA) preferred.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a leading position, ideally in a multinational environment.
Minimum 3 years procurement management experience, including category management, in a comparable company.
Experience in executing strategic initiatives with senior-level stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills to coach talent, foster simplicity, and challenge complexity.
Proficiency in procurement best business practices with a focus on dedicated general services procurement
Experience in Indirect Buying.
Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
Experience in contract negotiation.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
Fluent in English. Spanish and/or Portuguese languages are also preferred.
What will your key responsibilities be?Actively contribute to the transformation of MGS Commercial into an agile indirect procurement organization.
Lead and support the execution of our segment transformation initiatives.
Help implement category strategies for various sub-categories and align them with regional internal stakeholders and General Services Americas team.
Drive and monitor the execution of defined strategies, cross-segment if applicable, in collaboration with stakeholders across our business.
Work closely with global, and regional General Services teams on strategic sourcing activities to benefit the Finance and Risk Management functions.
Identify opportunities and innovations to deliver value to the business (pricing, capacity and service levels).
Conduct internal and external research on transformation opportunities and best industry practices.
Implement new approaches to generate savings and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). Performs spend analysis and develops sourcing roadmap focused on cost savings, process improvement and supplier management.
Ensure effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts & monitoring of commercial and financial KPIs.
Support segment’s transformations into a strategic business partner. Establish and maintain relationships with Finance, Risk Management, and rest of McLean Corporate Office/Sr. Leaders to ensure understanding or their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
Collaborate closely with segment teams and contribute to their business goals.
Manage key strategic suppliers and leverage their innovation potential to drive Mars growth.
Act as MGS Commercial ambassador/SPOC in McLean showcasing MGS Commercial solutions to be leveraged.
Lead or coach junior team members in sourcing activities to include vendor selections, negotiations, contracting and regional category management.
Recommendations for long term commercial agreements to maximize value for money.
Support the individual buyers in major negotiations and critical issues (eg: disputes that threaten continuity of supply, termination of major suppliers, suppliers causing late delivery of projects).
Ensure compliance with proper procedures, policies, systems and controls.
