Job Summary:
The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Clinical Director of Medical Genetics to lead and expand our comprehensive Clinical and Biochemical Genetics Program. The successful candidate will join an established, multidisciplinary team, providing expertise across multiple genetics programs, including cancer genetics, newborn screening, and lysosomal storage disease. This role offers the opportunity to lead in clinical service, education, and research within a large academic network.
Responsibilities:
Provide diagnostic evaluations and develop care plans for patients with inborn errors of metabolism in the outpatient setting.
Cross-coverage for clinical genetic services, including hereditary cancer and lysosomal storage disease programs.
Perform confirmatory testing, diagnostic evaluations, and care plans for infants with abnormal newborn screening results.
Shared weekend and evening metabolic coverage with the team.
Opportunity to educate and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows through biochemistry and pathology courses, pediatric residency, and medical genetics fellowship programs.
Act as an investigator for new and ongoing clinical trials in the Practice of Medical Genetics.
Opportunity to develop a research plan with support from mentors and departmental resources that are focused on patient-oriented clinical research.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Board Certified/Eligible in Clinical Medical Genetics required.
Board Certified/Eligible in Medical Biochemical Genetics preferred.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
