The Gallery Manager at Olympia’s new San Francisco outpost is a key leadership position responsible for managing daily gallery operations, driving sales, engaging with collectors, and fostering relationships within the art community. The role supports Olympia’s mission of dismantling the cis-male-centric art canon and creating an inclusive, interdisciplinary environment for artists, writers, and curators.Key Responsibilities:Gallery Management and Outreach:
Maintain a physical presence at the gallery three (3) days per week, five (5) hours each day, with flexibility for additional days as needed for installations, art fairs, meetings with collectors, and studio visits.Ensure a clean and welcoming gallery environment for all guests.Effectively communicate artists’ ideas and intentions to visitors.Develop a deep understanding of each artist’s practice and biography.Report daily activities and week-end summaries to the Director.Assist with exhibition logistics, event planning, and gallery operations.Plan and execute special events aligned with exhibition programming.Collaborate with local schools, nonprofits, and broader audiences to enhance Olympia’s engagement in the Bay Area.Manage and update visitor information for the newsletter.Sales:
Meet quarterly sales goals and maintain an active sales pipeline.Build and sustain relationships with artists, collectors, curators, art advisors, and consultants.Administrative and Reporting:
