PLS CADD Lead Analyst

Overview: One of the largest full-service geospatial solutions providers in North America is looking to hire an experienced PLS-CADD Lead Analyst to contribute to a large utility project. You will be responsible for leading a group of experienced analysts and senior analysts who are working on the design of high-voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD software. The role involves creating detailed models of transmission lines, performing analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to complete projects efficiently and within budget. Responsibilities: Lead the design of transmission lines in the 69kV to 550kV range in PLS-CADD to comply with the client’s standards, specifications, preferences, and relevant industry standards. Apply remotely sensed data (LiDAR) to existing transmission line models in PLS-CADD with neatness and a small margin of error. Perform structural analysis and design of structures (pole, lattice, framed, and guyed). Specify transmission line components. Conduct batch thermal analysis to evaluate the thermal performance of transmission lines. Analyze the thermal ratings of conductors, considering factors like ambient temperature, wind speed, solar radiation, and current-carrying capacity. Coordinate with project team, technical specialists, and experts to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. Review and approve PLS-CADD models. Perform quality checks and ensure accuracy of design deliverables. Identify potential risks and solutions during the design phase. Qualifications: GIS and/or Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering associate or bachelor's degree is required. 5+ years of experience in transmission line design, with at least 2 years of experience using PLS-CADD software. Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and other design tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with terrain mapping, LiDAR, and GIS integration into PLS-CADD. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
