UCLA Health's Ronald Reagan Hospital is looking for a dedicated skilled full-time Senior Cook to join our Department of Nutrition. In this role, you will play a key part in support of our food service operations, ensuring high-quality meal preparation, and providing excellent customer service. Primary duties include:Set up service lines and pre-plate foods for meal servicePrepare meals by cooking, grilling, baking, and managing the omelet and stir-fry stationsAssist customers during service times, ensuring a positive dining experienceFollow standardized recipes to maintain consistency and qualityReview menus, production sheets, and recipes to ensure all necessary items are preparedCook a variety of foods, including meat, fish, and vegetables, using various methodsClean, peel, cut, slice, dice, weigh, and measure ingredients as needed for recipesPlate and garnish food to ensure an attractive presentationPerform other duties as assigned to support the department's goalsSalary range: $22.34/hr - $28.91/hrQualifications
Valid ServSafe food handling certificationExperience cooking in a professional settingAbility to interact and work well with others (leadership, coworkers, and customers)Ability to read, write, and comprehend standard EnglishAbility to work in a standing position for long periods of timeAbility to stretch, bend, walk, stoop, and reach repetitivelyAbility to work in hot, cold, or wet areasAbility to lift, push, or pull at least 50lbsAbility to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekendsAbility to adhere to UC and department policies and procedures
