Join this team, and you’ll collaborate with engineers across Apple to uncover potential optimization on all aspects of hardware and software to enhance and improve customer experiences on Macs.Come join us!DescriptionApple’s Platform Architecture group is seeking a highly motivated systems engineer with excellent analytical skills. This position requires a critical problem solver with an aptitude for learning new technologies. In this role, you will work to:- Identify and build experiences targeted for the creatives for Macs. Define key metrics to analyze hardware and software performance.- Measure system analytics such as performance, power, thermal and acoustic data to analyze hardware and software behavior and recommend the best user experiences.- Uncover potential optimization across all aspects of hardware such as CPU, GPU, neural engine, media engine, memory, storage etc., and that of software such as OS, drivers, application etc.- Collaborate with engineering groups to pursue opportunities to enhance and improve customer experiences on Mac for creatives.Minimum QualificationsBS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent years of experienceKey Qualifications
Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of operating system fundamentals and system performance analysis & debugExperience with system performance and power profiling toolsIndustrial experience in visual effects, animation, immersive experience design or similar creative fieldKnowledge in two or more established creative software applicationsInterpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally from silicon to SW teamsUnderstanding of machine learning/AI algorithms on creative workflows (ex. GAN, GPT)Scripting skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C++ or similarKnowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems is a bonusEducation & Experience
Additional RequirementsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
