Purpose

The satellite industry is undergoing a major transformation with global software defined GEO, MEO and LEO constellations replacing the legacy GEO satellites. Customers require multi-orbit solutions that adopt open standards including 3GPP and MEF, modern cybersecurity principles, software defined and cloud native architectures and end to end service orchestration.

The Product Management Director for Digital products will be responsible for Comtech’s Digital product strategy and product lifecycle management. The Director will work closely with customers, sales, marketing, engineering and other stakeholder on new product development and enhancements to existing products.

Responsibilities

Create product strategy for Digital products and manage the product lifecycle from concept through development, go-to-market, launch, delivery, and end-of-life.

Create and maintain product roadmaps.

Establish strategies for product pricing and positioning.

Review customer and market requirements and provide direction on features and enhancements.

Manage the process for evaluating new product/feature requests, collecting and analyzing the data required to make business decisions.

Responsible for ensuring that product roadmaps are aligned with overall company vision and strategy.

Works with Engineering, Project Management, and other stake holders on development of products and features.

Regularly communicates status to internal stakeholders and customers.

Support the Sales team with RFP/RFQ/RFIs.

Attend tradeshows and other events to showcase products and support Sales.

Develop product collateral.

Serves as voice of the customer within Comtech.

Stay current with market trends and competitor products and solutions.

Skills

Previous experience working with DoD and government customers is preferred.

Experience managing the entire product lifecycle.

Knowledge of NGSO, 3GPP NTN, MEF and networking is required.

Experience with cybersecurity and different security maturity models and standards.

Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills, ability to conduct financial and data analysis and make recommendations to the leadership team.

Ability to understand key technical features of the product.

Ability to lead cross functional teams and drive projects to successful outcomes.

Experience in agile development methodology is preferred.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

A highly motivated self-starter.

Able to work both collaboratively and autonomously, effectively, accurately, and efficiently.

Requirements

BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, MS or MBA preferred.

15+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years as Product Manager for SATCOM, wireless or networking products.

Secret/TS security clearance preferred.

Travel requirements: 15% – 20%.
