Position Summary:
Oversee program operations and planning of program activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements interagency cooperative agreements and contracts with tribal and non-tribal service providers for the provision of early intervention and related services to the targeted population.Coordinates and participates in child development screening clinics within the tribal community for the purpose of early identification.Provides follow-up and early intervention support services/case management to families of children identified for services (family resource coordination).Advocates/seeks any additional funding sources that may be available by proposal writing, etc.Develops and coordinates programs to meet organizational goals.Maintains accurate and timely data to ensure the information is in compliance with grant objectives.Is responsible for compiling annual reports to the funding source accurately and timely.Provides information to families on community resources and assists clients with obtaining resources to ensure appropriate services for the children and families.Participates in the development of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Vision, Mission, Strategic Direction, and a responsibility to convey, model, and carry-out such.Develops and maintains ethical and professional relationships with key vendors in an effort to obtain added value to the Puyallup Tribe of Indians.Contributes to a favorable public image of the Tribe by establishing and maintaining relationships and participation in the community (civic, industry, and professional).Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises two employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Puyallup Tribe of Indians personnel policies and procedures, and all applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, coaching and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, recognizing and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Qualifications and Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent from a four-year college in a social service or related field; or minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate knowledge and experience using word processing and spreadsheets (i.e. Word for Windows, Excel, Access, etc.).Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Licenses or Certificates:State Certification. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance required. Must pass a criminal background check.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
