Senior Software Engineer - Simulaton Scenario Automation

Simulation is essential to Zoox’s mission. Zoox uses simulation to develop our driving software, validate safety, and analyze our real-world performance. Our team’s work directly impacts how rapidly and successfully Zoox will achieve its goals. Come help us build world-class simulation tools and establish the standard for safety in autonomous vehicles!We are looking for engineers with strong coding skills and exceptional design and implementation skills at the system and component level. You will be helping create scenario generation tools that blur the line between real and synthetic, closing the gap between real driving and hand-authored scenarios. Together, we’ll build a highly-scalable automated architecture used by mission assurance and autonomy engineers to continuously improve the safety and reliability of our robots.In this role, you will:

Develop platform for large scale generation and analysis of autonomous driving scenarios for simulationCollaborate on the design and implementation of our simulation-based safety validation and analysis pipelineWork closely with various teams across the company, like Simulation, AI software, QA, and Validation, to realize Zoox’s ambitious autonomous driving goalsQualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant fieldExpertise with large-scale Python projectsGreat communication, cross-team collaboration skills, ability to work independently: self-motivated, inventive, organized and efficientBackground in machine learning, statistics, or data science5+ years’ experience in a related fieldBonus Qualifications:

Experience with database, data storage, data visualization, and data analytics systemsProfessional experience working in C++, Kotlin and/or TypeScriptExperience in game development, traffic simulation, or motion planning, and relevant math skills like linear algebra and trigonometryCompensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $195,000 - $245,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package.
