The Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Data Architect to lead our data strategy and architecture efforts. As the Chief Data Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our data systems, ensuring they align with business goals, and driving innovation through data-driven insights. You will collaborate with various teams to design, implement, and maintain robust data architectures that support our growing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s business objectives, ensuring scalability and adaptability.
Architecture Design: Design and oversee the implementation of data architectures, including data models, data integration frameworks, and data governance policies.
Technology Leadership: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, recommending and implementing modern data solutions that enhance efficiency and data quality.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT, data science, analytics, and business teams to understand their data needs and provide architectural solutions that support their objectives.
Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability, addressing any issues that arise.
Mentorship: Mentor and guide data architects, engineers, and other relevant team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Project Management: Lead and manage data architecture projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
Candidate Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of data modeling, database design, data warehousing, ETL processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL databases).
Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with data architecture tools and platforms (e.g., ERwin, Informatica, Talend, Kafka, Spark) and familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, capable of translating business needs into effective data solutions.
Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CDMP) are a plus.
